The Senior Security Officer is a senior leadership role responsible for protecting the company's assets, personnel, and reputation by creating a comprehensive security strategy that covers both physical and information security.
This role involves shaping the company's overall security posture, developing risk management frameworks, and establishing policies that ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
The SSO will manage partnerships and coordinate with teams across the company to oversee proactive security measures, risk assessments, and incident responses, creating a culture of awareness and preparedness at all levels.
Key Responsibilities :
- Security Strategy and Leadership
- Design and drive the overall corporate security strategy, focusing on both physical and information security policies.
- Develop and enforce comprehensive security guidelines and protocols that address risks across the organization's operations.
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives to foster a security-focused mindset among staff, enhancing organizational awareness and vigilance.
- Risk Management & Incident Preparedness
- Identify and assess potential risks to the organization through regular risk management reviews and security audits.
- Implement preventive measures and preparedness plans, establishing clear response procedures for security incidents.
- Act as a key advisor to leadership on emerging risks, recommending strategies and policies to mitigate potential threats.
- Physical Security (May be required to be physically present (non intervention / confrontation) for active monitoring of personnel)
- Establish and maintain protocols for physical security, ensuring that personnel, facilities, and assets are protected.
- Develop emergency response plans for various physical security scenarios, from unauthorized access to natural disasters.
- Oversee partnerships with third-party security providers, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
- Strategic Security Awareness
- Gather and evaluate information relevant to the organization's security, monitoring industry developments and potential risks.
- Provide timely recommendations to senior leadership based on strategic insights, supporting a proactive approach to security.
- Build secure and confidential channels for sharing and managing sensitive information across departments.
- Policy Development & Compliance
- Lead the creation of policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal security goals.
- Regularly review and update security policies to adapt to new challenges, communicating these to all relevant stakeholders.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to monitor and address regulatory changes impacting security practices.
- Communication & Training
- Develop and implement security training programs to increase awareness and understanding of security best practices among employees.
- Communicate security updates and critical information to senior management and the wider organization as appropriate.
- Foster a secure culture, encouraging employees at all levels to recognize and report potential security issues.
