Warehouse Operations Director

Adecco has partnered with a dynamic and expanding provider in the logistics and supply chain sector to recruit a seasoned leader for the position of Warehouse Operations Director .

Position Overview :

The successful candidate will oversee operations across multiple warehouse locations, ensuring top-tier operational standards and fostering team development.

Key Responsibilities :

• Supervise operations across several warehousing sites, leading a team of 30+ members across a combined area of over 300,000 square feet.
• Promote and sustain a culture of safety in all warehouse locations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, and implementing measures and procedures that prioritize a safe work environment.
• Optimize workflow within warehouse operations, balancing efficiency with cost control, and closely collaborating with planning and transport teams to ensure seamless processes.
• Establish and guide a transportation unit aimed at minimizing logistics expenses through strategic scheduling, load management, and carrier selection.
• Partner with the inventory management team to ensure accurate and timely cycle counts, spot checks, and full inventory assessments, adhering to established procedures.
• Lead initiatives for process enhancement to streamline pick, pack, put-away, and shipping operations across all sites, continuously refining operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through system enhancements, inventory optimization, and space utilization. Partner with staffing agencies to manage peak demand periods effectively, setting clear expectations and performance targets for the team.
• Coach, mentor, and manage warehouse staff, focusing on performance management and continuous development. Implement security measures to protect assets and ensure efficient management of the warehouse budget.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully managing warehouse operations, including :

• Experience in developing high-performance teams, a process-oriented mindset, and a commitment to strong leadership, guiding teams through changes in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and Warehouse Management Systems, with additional experience in SAP and RF Pathways being an asset.

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, solution-driven approach.

Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining high attention to detail.

Proven expertise in team leadership, coaching, and training.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in people management or leadership roles is required.
• Educational background in supply chain, operations management, or industrial engineering, or equivalent professional experience managing warehouse operations across multiple sites.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead projects, drive change, and maintain a strategic, detail-oriented approach.
