Commercial Manager Construction - GTA This position is GTA based but will require travel to client sites. Role Responsibilities :
- Forensic reviews of baseline and progress construction schedules & provide input to the project team.
- Develop risk register & key contractual obligations from Contract review.
- Review Prime Contract to determine obligations, liabilities and highlight risks.
- Manage contract administration processes and results.
- Provide interpretation of Prime Contract language.
- Develop contract management activities to ensure compliance with the Prime Contract.
- Manage contract reporting activities and identify and track deliverables.
- Develop correspondence with Client as appropriate to request necessary changes and modifications to meet the project requirements.
- Assist in negotiations concerning changes.
- Ensure timely and accurate contractual correspondence.
- Negotiate Change Orders, variations and change issues.
- Claims avoidance and management, including preparation of claims submissions.
- Analyse bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Maintain excellent relationships clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the public.
- Liaise with project teams on a variety of matters as required.
- Develop and implement District and Company-wide best processes and policies.
- Conduct monthly review and reporting of potential claims and opportunities with Vice President & District Manager.
- Support project pursuit teams and estimating.
- Develop tender and RFP qualifications.

Commercial Manager Construction - GTA Skills & Experience
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management or related field
- 8+ years' leadership experience in the construction industry
- A strong background in contract management
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project and Primavera P6
- Excellent financial and numeracy management skills
- Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contracts
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities. capable of handling pressure and challenges
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them
- Strong project management, organisational and investigative skills
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to simply complex concepts
- Superior written and verbal communication skills at multiple levels
