What Is The Opportunity
Aecon is seeking a Civil / Structural / Architectural (CSA) Engineer to join Aecon Industrial Engineering Team. We are proud to support projects that are committed to providing high quality Industrial Infrastructure.

What You Will Do Here
To provide leadership, support and co-ordination across all aspect of technical work streams, during each stage of design-build projects, from early design stages to commissioning.
Technical work streams may include but are not limited to; All engineering disciplines, design management, digital engineering, sustainability, engineering surveying, constructability and commissioning.
- Ensuring that the design developed meets the technical specifications of the project as well as the applicable law, codes, standards, etc.
- Ensure delivery of engineering in accordance with Aecon’s contractual requirements and construction needs.
- Ensure that quality is managed by our engineering providers.
- Perform technical reviews
- Assist Project Manager with the engineering budget and schedule.
- Help draft and maintain engineering project execution plan.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Will Bring to The Team
- 6+ years of experience in consulting engineering firm.
- 3+ years of experience in an on-site construction environment.
- Will collaborate in a multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Educational and Industry experience requirements include an Engineering degree (Civil or Structural) with P.Eng. designation in any Canadian jurisdiction (Alberta preferred).
- Able to be a big picture thinker, be a generalist.
- Proven experience with delivering industrial and infrastructure projects considered an asset
- High level understanding of other technical disciplines considered a must.
- Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle from scoping to commissioning.
- Experience in project deliveries requirements for design-build (DB), collaborative DB and contractor early contractor engagement projects would be desirable.
- Experience of large complex projects in industrial would be desirable.
- Understanding design and construction phases and associated typical engineering deliverables.
- Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence etc.) skills are essential.
- Excellent customer service skills, a passion for problem ownership, and a customer-first attitude.
- Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to learn and have high level of adaptability. Attention to details.
- Proven ability to work with engineering teams as well as construction teams.
- Ability to travel to site, mobile for projects when required.
