The Project Accountant supports the Low-Rise Project Accounting Team by preparing accounting entries and periodic financial reports to correctly reflect the project status.

This role is located at our Empire Canada Homes Head Office in Vaughan, ON .

What We Are Looking For :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably in the real estate industry.
  • CPA designation completed or enrolled is preferred.
  • Experience with NewStar is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented and good excel skills for data analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing Each Day

  • Prepare and book entries for low-rise closings and parking operating income for revenue.
  • Calculate and book development, construction management and guarantee fees.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Record monthly entries for cost of sales, marketing expenses and costs to complete.
  • Prepare monthly trust account reconciliation for customer deposits.
  • Prepare annual financial statements including supporting working paper files for submission to auditors and assist with audit queries.
  • Prepare and maintain semi-annual project cash flow forecast for assigned projects.
