Job description :

Position : Terrazzo, Tile and Marble setter

Location : Ontario

Required hours : 5,600 hours

Overview :

We are looking for a skilled Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Setter to join our team in Ontario . The ideal candidate will have experience in installing and repairing various types of flooring materials, including terrazzo, tiles, and marble.

You will be responsible for creating beautiful and durable surfaces that enhance the aesthetic appeal of residential and commercial spaces.

The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to high-quality workmanship, and a passion for the craft.

Job Responsibilities :

Surface Blasting : Perform surface preparation tasks using abrasive blasting techniques on metal surfaces, ensuring they are clean, smooth, and free from contaminants.

This includes blasting for paint preparation, rust removal, and surface coating.

Equipment Operation : Operate blasting equipment such as sandblasters, grit blasters, or shot blasters. Ensure proper functioning of equipment and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.

Surface Inspection : Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure all contaminants are removed and that the surface meets the required specifications for further processing or coating.

Health & Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations when working with abrasive materials and blasting equipment.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) to safeguard against dust, debris, and other hazards.

Maintenance & Care of Tools : Regularly clean, maintain, and inspect blasting equipment to ensure it is in optimal working condition and perform minor repairs as needed.

Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of work performed, including surface conditions before and after blasting.

Report any issues or irregularities encountered during the blasting process to supervisors.

Collaboration : Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and successful project completion. Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to coordinate tasks and address any potential concerns.

Job Requirements :

High school diploma or equivalent is acceptable.

2-5 years of hands-on experience in terrazzo, tile, and marble setting.

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools related to flooring installation.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and tools.

Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
