THE ROLE
The Junior Lifeguard plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and ensuring the safety of our military members and their families.
Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to the pool or beach.
We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work.
Whether families need to sign the kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, our services are here to help.
Junior Lifeguard, in support of facility Lifeguards, are responsible for the safety and well-being of members. Junior Lifeguard may provide supervision of a zone or at locations where specific equipment or activities require targeted supervision (e.
g., water slide, rope swings, etc.). Junior Lifeguard provide surveillance over swimmer safety, model and promote safe aquatic behaviours, provide positive public relations, respond to emergency situations, and provide basic patron care.
This is an excellent growth position for individuals who have the current bronze cross certification and want to develop their skills as a lifeguard.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Current Bronze Cross certification
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification, an asset
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Experience
In dealing with the public, including, but not limited to, children
In lifeguarding
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Observational skills
Ability to react and respond in emergency situations
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
PSP : Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs.
Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
