Salary :
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
About the job :
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Manager, Pharmacy Initiatives oversees pharmacy technology solutions and related staff, leads capital projects, and manages capital equipment.
The Manager provides leadership and support for departmental planning and implementation of strategic initiatives, special projects, and human resources management;
assists the Director in capital planning, departmental performance monitoring, quality improvement initiatives, and human resources management.
The Manager promotes the application and integration of systems and tools designed to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and sustainability of Pharmacy Services across Interior Health (IH).
This involves working in a complex, integrated health system and requires a strategic thinker with a collaborative working style who is comfortable working with staff at all levels.
Typical duties and responsibilities :
- In collaboration with the Pharmacy Services Leadership Team, provides leadership and support to teams in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives designed to improve quality of service, resource utilization, safety, and risk reduction.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates performance indicators for the Pharmacy portfolio. Collects and reports performance measures for internal and external audiences.
Analyzes and shares information with the Pharmacy Services Leadership Team to develop improvement strategies.
- Assists and facilitates the implementation of departmental quality improvement initiatives. Provides coordinated monitoring of project outcomes and regular reporting to partner groups.
- Assists the Director in preparing and monitoring capital and operational budgets, in conjunction with departmental goals and objectives.
Writes related decision briefs and prepares business cases for major capital submissions.
- Provides leadership and direction for specified projects. Leads and manages projects from planning and design through to implementation and evaluation.
- Acts as a liaison with other departments and portfolios on relevant initiatives to ensure inter-departmental collaboration, partner consultation, and strategic alignment.
- Supports portfolio leaders by monitoring and reporting on the progress of strategic initiatives.
- Provides management expertise to clinical leaders within the portfolio. Advises on human resources issues, financial management, quality improvement, and related business practices.
- In conjunction with departmental leaders, manages employee grievances and progressive discipline, up to and including termination.
- Collaborates and participates in the development of LEAN innovation opportunities in IH Pharmacy departments and programs.
- In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.
