Senior Staff Engineer, Product Software
Job Summary
Equinix is the world's digital infrastructure company. Much of the internet that you know flows through our rapid interconnected network and data centers.
Our Equinix Internet Exchange is the world's largest Internet Exchange while our Equinix Fabric has the largest market share in Software Defined Interconnection.
Our team is building Equinix's next generation networking and Multi Cloud Networking platforms which enable all Equinix's Digital Interconnection services.
We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help us build and operate a highly scalable, available, and distributed multi cloud networking software stack.
Responsibilities
Actively participate in the design, development and operation of multi cloud networking stack
Provide technical guidance and collaborate with stakeholders to develop software as a service
Facilitate cross-stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment on software requirements and design trade-offs, while considering performance, scalability, and reliability factors
Act as a key technical liaison internally and externally, engaging with customers, partners, forums and open-source developer communities to gather insights, share expertise, and stay informed about industry trends and advancements
Follow a proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration of Multi Cloud Networking and Network-As-A-Service (NaaS) solutions
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in writing and applying GoLang scripts for DevOps automation tasks, including containerization, deployment orchestration, and infrastructure management
Experience with building software as a service, running services with 24x7 oncall
Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) services and technologies
Proficient in data management systems and technologies : GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Neo4J, MinIO
Experience in working with network management protocols : gRPC, Netconf
Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and their applications
Strong experience in building & operating highly reliable distributed systems
Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies : Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, or other open-source alternatives
Proficient in using continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies : Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD
Hands-on experience with observability stack (metrics, logs, traces) such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos
Experience with service mesh implementations : Jaeger, Istio, or other open-source alternatives
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve distributed system issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings, recommendations, and technical details to various stakeholders
Knowledge of open-source networking technologies like VPP, eBPF, SONiC is a plus
