Scope
The pumps and Controls department looks after the City's PRVs and Sanitary, Water and drainage pumps stations. The City of Surrey has an excellent opportunity for an Electrician with controls experience.
As the Tradesperson 2 - Electrician you will perform skilled electrical and controls work in alteration, maintenance, repair, and programming of City pump stations, PRVs and monitor stations.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and plans and assist in preparing estimates of costs, time, materials and equipment needed for electrical projects.
- Do lay outs, assembling, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, maintaining, wiring, connecting, or testing electrical equipment for systems of controls, processes, instrumentation, motors, pumps, communications, alarms, lights, heats, emergency, and power systems in PRVs, water stations, wastewater stations, and drainage stations.
- Programming includes HMIs, controllers, PLCs, actuators, and other instruments.
- Work collaboratively with other trades including Millwrights, Utility Operators, and SCADA technicians.
- Work independently to organize and plan work projects.
- Orders supplies and materials.
- As an Electrician you will Perform heavy manual inside and outdoor work in all types of weather conditions.
- Keeps accurate records including a daily log of activities.
- Assists other crew members in performing their duties.
- Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications
Candidates under consideration will have the following :
- Completion of Grade 12 and an Electrical Trades Certification (TQ).
- Class B Ticket with FSR.
- Previous experience and training as a qualified trades Electrician.
- A valid and unrestricted driver's license with safe driving history.
You will need to demonstrate :
- Good working knowledge of applicable safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and others. Other Information
Hourly Rate : $43.30.
