ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) department at Huron University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track appointment in the area of Organizational Behaviour, commencing July 1, 2025.
The individual will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor. Probationary appointments will be for three years.
The successful candidate for the position will possess a relevant business terminal degree (PhD preferred, or equivalent such as DBA) and graduate degrees / professional designations (CHRP, MA, MSc, MBA, other), specializing in organizational behaviour, human resources, or equivalent cognate discipline, previous teaching experience at a leading university, and a demonstrated evidence of quality research.
Broad management competencies, knowledge of analytical applications, and multiple years of progressive private-sector industry experience applying theory to management practice are important and considered key assets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate theoretical and practical expertise in the area of organizational behaviour (OB), while evidencing multidisciplinary experience.
They will be expected to teach a broad array of undergraduate courses in organizational behaviour, and related areas such as Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion;
human resources; business-government relations; and related and emergent subjects. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to innovative programmatic and / or course curriculum development and service, within the largest single department at a growing University.
Demonstrated areas of competency across management functions, commitment to working collaboratively and inventively in the arts and social science environment, practical leadership in experiential learning, strong connection with industry networks, top-quality professional designations, and an international perspective and experience, will also be considered strong assets.
The Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) department at Huron offers a comprehensive variety of courses and modules for students to pursue in the areas of Accounting, Business Intelligence, Finance, Marketing and Sustainability, and Organizational Studies, Policy and Ethics.
Our department’s faculty lead unique programs such as Animal Ethics and Sustainability Leadership, governance, innovation and entrepreneurship, and support interdisciplinarity that integrate our foci with those of our liberal arts and social science colleagues for mutual benefit and student impact.
Our graduates achieve the BMOS degree, providing a stepping-stone to post-graduate professions (e.g. CPA / CFA / MBA / JD), further graduate study, and solid preparation for a variety of business careers.
