As an Electrical Engineer at Morrison Hershfield Ltd., you will be responsible for the development, management, and execution of engineering projects.
This includes major projects in British Columbia, and with the potential for other major projects across Canada. Further, locally, projects involving light industrial, commercial and institutional.
Responsibilities :
Site assessments and reports based on existing building condition.
Provide engineering calculations for electrical loads, lighting levels, for various building types and sizes.
Design lighting systems and controls
Design power distribution single line diagrams, and risers, as well as power distribution layouts
Design fire alarm and life safety systems (emergency lighting, emergency power)
Design of security and access control systems.
Prepare construction documents including drawings, and specifications, including supporting calculations.
Collaborate with Clients, architects, and other engineer disciplines.
Conduct site review and provide field review reports as required
Maintain project files and documentations in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Eligible for registration in Canada as a P.Eng.
6 or more years of experience with electrical systems, preferably in the consulting engineering industry.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2006 with ability to effectively communicate design intent to CAD staff.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications.
Lighting design software knowledge is asset.
Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills; foreign language(s) a plus.
Proven ability to work exceptionally well and efficiently in a team environment with a proven strong customer service commitment.
