An established commercial millwork operation serving the local BC commercial and retail market is looking for a Shop Foreman to supervise our production operations.
Our company is expanding steadily each year as our reputation for quality and organization continues to grow.
We are looking for the right fit with our existing team of qualified designers, managers and production staff and a proven performer that can keep our major projects organized, on time and on budget while maintaining quality expectations.
This is a leadership position requiring a full breadth of both production skills and people skills.
As the lead person for the production team you will be responsible for the manufacturing of all products to meet the expectations of our customer base.
With a strong track record in safety, quality control and overall production efficiency you will need to select, train and manage subordinates in all areas of the plant.
You will need many years of hands-on experience in millwork design and construction to guide the efforts of your subordinates.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience of 3-5 years in a supervisory role within the millwork industry.
- Prior experience as a journeyman cabinetmaker / millworker.
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Full understanding of architectural CAD drawings and blueprints.
- Capacity to schedule / run multiple projects on time and on budget.
- Extensive knowledge of standard cabinet / millwork manufacturing machinery and tools.
- Mastery of joinery methodologies / procedures used in millwork and cabinet construction.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting with all levels of employees.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, organized, and possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
