We have openings for highly experienced red seal carpenters full time immediately.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Hart Tipton is seeking full-time Carpenters with experience in forming, framing and finishing to erect the foundation and superstructure of projects with accuracy, efficiency, and awareness for all subsequent scopes of work.
Our carpenters are the backbone of the company and we are seeking craftsmen who specialize in quality and productivity, teamwork and collaboration with a minimum of 10 years experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum Proficiency : Ability to perform the following tasks to a high level in an unsupervised capacity :
- Read architectural & structural design drawings
- Safely operate power tools
- Understand Forming Systems incl. ICF, FastFoot, Boardform, etc.
- Proficient at placing concrete footings and walls
- Ability to use builders’ levels and lasers
- Select and evaluate materials for defects
- Framing floor systems
- Identifying rough opening sizes for doors and windows
- Layout basic walls
- Pin and layout footings
Advanced Proficiency : Ability to perform the following tasks to a high level with minimum supervision :
- Understand requirements of major trades at rough-in and finishing stages (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, millwork, interior finish)
- Estimate tools, equipment, and materials required for forming, framing
- Layout floor systems / Roof systems
- Understanding of envelopes / barriers as they may be tied into framing
- Building envelope knowledge
- Install window liners and casings
- Understand and install trim build-up details
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Driver’s License and vehicle
- Be keen, fit and possess a positive attitude
- Able to read & interpret architectural plans
- Willing to travel to West Vancouver
- Willing to train and mentor apprentices and labourers
- Ability to identify unsafe work conditions
- Knowledge of building science and current code
