SCOPE :

The Anti-Human Trafficking Program Manager will coach and support the Courage for Change and Youth in Transition staff within the Toronto Site, Community Services Portfolio.

This position will be responsible to build capacity while ensuring ONWA’s vision, mandate, and objectives are met and align with ONWA’s Strategic Plan.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Program Manager is responsible to ensure staff and services are operational and managed according to the program standards and guidelines.

The position will deliver and facilitate the agreed program deliverables. The position will ensure the Toronto Site is a safe space for Indigenous Women, youth, and the community.

The position will guide and support to build meaningful collaboration throughout the Toronto Region and requires significant experience and a strong understanding of using anti-human trafficking models within delivery of service and program development.

QUALIFICATIONS :

A degree or diploma related to Indigenous Learning, Social Work, or Justice with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a management role.

A master’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 3 (three) years previous work experience in supporting and advocating for Indigenous women and families.
  • In depth knowledge and previous experience working with vulnerable individuals; in the areas of anti-human trafficking, exploitation, youth work, and community safety.
  • Demonstrated administrative management with the ability to manage staff.
  • Knowledge and experience with Indigenous culture, traditions, ceremony and connecting Community Members to cultural practices to support Community Members.
  • In-depth understanding of psychological, social, and cognitive development.
  • Awareness of the recent, historical, and intergenerational trauma that Indigenous women and youth may have experienced, including the psychological, neurological, physiological, social, and spiritual impacts of trauma.
  • Understanding of the principles of strength-based, cultural trauma-informed care, and wise practices.
  • A strong understanding of gendered based perspective from an integrated feminist, anti- racist, anti-oppression perspective worldview.
  • Proven work experience in managing crisis support and ability to mediate conflict.
  • Ability to work with community member centered approaches.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience managing case management and supportive counselling skills.
  • Experience with program budgets, cash flows and projected expenses, and project financial management.
  • Knowledge and working understanding of Not-For Profit Organizations.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and facilitation skills with the ability to follow through on assigned duties independently within strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience with program development and implementation strategies.
  • Thorough knowledge of other service agencies and excellent networking skills, and the ability to establish and maintain these connections and partnerships.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office; competency working with other databases.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current issues facing Indigenous Women and youth.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.
  • Current vulnerable sector criminal records check. Valid 1st Aid / CPR
  • Class G license, 2 million liability insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Cellular phone and internet access is required within this position.
  • This position is in-office with the ability to work a flexible schedule as required. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.
