Our client, a Top 5 Bank in Canada is looking to hire a Data Governance Business Consultant to their team for an initial 8-month contract.
This role is hybrid with 2 days in office.
In this project, you will be working on a remediation project, focusing on the deployment of a comprehensive data governance program.
You will work closely with a fragmented team overseeing three distinct areas within the Finance organization, addressing data quality management, metadata management, data lineage identification, and statutory reporting within the Finance domain.
The project aims to enhance data governance practices at an enterprise level.
Responsibilities Include :
- Identify and meet with potential clients to determine project requirements and scope.
- Conduct research and data collection related to the client and industry.
- Analyze existing data governance practices in finance.
- Collaborate with project management to determine required resources and create timelines.
- Present strategies and recommendations for data governance improvement.
- Develop and assist in implementing data governance solutions.
- Provide ongoing support for customers, including report building, data quality, and new integrations.
- Some travel may be required.
Qualifications :
- 3-5 years of experience in deploying data governance programs.
- Proficiency in identifying data quality management, including metadata management and identifying data in finance.
- Experience in tracing data lineage through applications.
- Prior experience with statutory reporting.
- Competence in managing data dictionaries.
- Financial industry (FI) experience.
- 8+ years of overall experience working with data.
- Enterprise-level data governance experience.
Nice-To-Have Skills :
- Experience with Microsoft Purview.
