The Project Director Quality reports to the DNNP-SMR Project Director and functionally to the Candu Energy Inc. Vice-President Quality and serves as a member of the Quality Project Management Team (PQMT).
The Project Quality Director sets the overall direction for Project Quality and ensures that the project organization is fully supported from a Quality standpoint in an integrated, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
This role will be based in Pickering, ON.
Your role within the team :
- Document Project QAM applicable to SMR scope and complaint with requirements of the partner’s certified programs in place.
- Assist the project team in ensuring satisfactory performance regarding the Project Quality Objectives
- Represent the project team on matters pertaining quality assurance aspects;
- Ensure appropriate planning, development, documentation, and maintenance of the quality assurance programs
- Ensure the Project 's processes and products are compliant with applicable quality standards and requirements
- Define and manage continuous improvement program applicable to the scope of the project
- Growing project internal Quality business by developing and mentoring Quality and Compliance team through performance and workflow management
- Collaborate with cross-functional project team members and project partners to develop and update processes
- Identify, record and report quality problems and problems related to the effective implementation of the Project Quality Assurance Program
- Manage QA staffing requirements and resource for the Project QA.
- Provide standardized reporting for the Quality Assurance ensuring that the PLT and all relevant stakeholders have access to valuable data and analytics.
Utilize reports to anticipate and resolve issues as required. Verify and confirm implementation and effectiveness of solutions
Provides indoctrination and training of project staff and management as defined by the project Quality Assurance Plan

The Ideal Candidate :
- University degree in Engineering or equivalent ;
- Minimum of 10-15 years practical working experience in a relevant quality field including supervisory role;
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to make a substantial contribution to the execution of the project;
- Working knowledge of CSA N285.0, CSA N299, CSA N286-12, CSA N 286.7, ISO 9001 and ASME codes;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procedures, processes, equipment and techniques;
- Demonstrated project management skills;
- Must possess sound judgment and diplomacy in managing project tasks;
- Strong verbal / written communication skills and effectiveness in interpersonal relationships
- Experience in major multi-discipline project teams and interacting with other disciplines and external parties (e.g. Customers, suppliers, etc.);
