Randstad is currently looking for an Outside Sales Representative for our client, a leading supplier of industrial fittings, hoses, and other quality products for distributors and OEMs, located on beautiful Vancouver Island.
Under the guidance of the Regional Sales Manager, the successful candidate will conduct sales calls in person or virtually, using suitable technology to engage with both potential and existing customers.
This role involves building strong customer relationships and gaining insights into their business and product needs to optimize sales and product penetration.
Additionally, the successful candidate will monitor industry trends to identify shifts in customer demand and preferences.

Responsibilities
- Engage with existing and potential customers, assessing their needs through in-person meetings, phone calls, or virtual sessions.
- Plan and schedule regular customer interactions, including overnight travel within the territory when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Regularly analyze sales and identify new opportunities for customers.
- Develop and execute customer sales strategies, including product targets and competitive insights.
- Set goals, monitor progress, and adjust plans with the Regional Manager.
- Address customer issues and relay them to the Regional Sales Manager.
- Provide technical support and product expertise.
- Present product information, gather customer feedback on pricing and service.
- Prepare sales forecasts and communicate policy, pricing, and product updates.
- Prospect for new customers and expand existing business opportunities.
- Communicate customer updates with the Inside Sales team / Admin.
- Track sales opportunities and update customer profiles.
- Use company training resources to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
- Complete administrative tasks like expense reports, mileage, and forecasts.
- Participate in product seminars and sales / marketing meetings.
- Relay market insights and customer feedback to management.
- Support inside staff with branch duties when necessary.
- Assist in trade shows, customer events, and strategic entertainment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in marketing, business, or communications, with 3 to 4 years of sales experience in a related industry
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong communication skills; bilingual in English and French (regional).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and product / market knowledge.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong analytical skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently.
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word), and CRM software.
- Sales-driven and team-oriented.
