The Opportunity :
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our team in Burlington for an 18+ month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The Production Supervisor promotes a safe work environment and ensures that the Production department is working efficiently and effectively to support the Production schedules.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
- Maintains production capacity by determining, monitoring and updating production priorities and managing staff
- Coordinates internal training and recruitment activities, health and safety, policies and procedures
- Uses leadership skills to create team spirit and communication improvement between all employees
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls the operation of the Production Department
- Ensures that all staff adhere to company policies and procedures (GMPs / SOPs)
- Maintains a safe and healthy working environment
- Maintains knowledge of plant production
- Maintains quality service of finished goods
- Provides leadership and manage processing activities to ensure products are ordered, inventories are accurate, and products are manufactured to meet customer requirements.
- Create an engaging and empowering environment to raise the bar on talent and performance
- Completes direct quality control inspections and prepare and submit reports of quality issues
- Manages and improves the profitability, output and efficiency of the department (shift).
- Participates in conducting the annual internal GMP audit of Production Department.
- Develops and improves effective and efficient manufacturing procedures and methods.
- All dealings with Ministry of Labour, Labour Board, WSIB, EI and any other external institutions pertaining to issues of the company which include appeals to the boards and attending mediation on behalf of the company if needed.
Qualifications & Experience :
- 3+ years of supervision experience.
- 5+ years of working in a high paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GMP’s, Health & Safety, WHIMS.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, planning and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
