Job Description

We are looking for a skilled welder to join our team. This role involves working on large tanks, utilizing Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and metal core welding on 3 / 16 to 1 / 2 inch aluminum.

The position requires proficiency in vertical and horizontal welding positions, occasional light fabrication, and some confined space work approximately once per week.

Additionally, the role includes following blueprints and drawings, and installing valves, fittings, air lines, and more when not welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform GMAW welding on large aluminum cargo tanks.
• Collaborate in teams of two to complete projects within 6-9 days.
• Work primarily in vertical and horizontal welding positions.
• Carry out light fabrication tasks as needed.
• Work in confined spaces approximately once per week.
• Follow blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Install valves, fittings, air lines, and other components when not welding.

Essential Skills

• 2-3 years of aluminum GMAW welding experience.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints.
• Must be willing to be clean shaven due to occasional respirator use.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Red Seal certification.
• Experience with overhead cranes.
• Experience with steel welding.

Work Environment

Our work environment includes a clean, organized shop that operates as a large-scale assembly line. The team is tight-knit with long-tenured members and an open-door policy that encourages growth and development.

The tank department currently has 9 members, with plans to expand to 15. The dress code is STWB, and the shift runs from Monday to Friday, 6 : 15 am to 2 : 30 pm.

The location is usually transit accessible. Pay rate can reach up to $40 / hour.
