Our Client prides themselves on not just handling claims, but crafting resolutions! They are seeking an experienced and collaborative Claims Adjuster to join the team.
This position will be handling a majority of casualty claims (slip and falls) as well as some auto and accident benefit claims.
Their mission is to deliver top-tier customer service from start to finish, weaving through the intricacies of loss investigation, coverage evaluation, claim negotiation, and ultimate settlement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Coverage determination, investigation, negotiation, and settlement of claims
- Timely and effective contact with insureds, third parties, adjusters, and lawyers in order to establish a right and equitable settlement.
- Clear and concise communication with all involved parties
- Participate in mediations, hearings & trials (occasional travel may be required)
- Maintaining awareness and understanding of current case law and coverage trends
- Regular exchange of information / communication between departments as it pertains to the risk.
Required qualifications
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role
- An intuitive mind
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management, prioritization, organizational and planning skills required
- Ability to problem solve, self-motivated and work independently but able to collaborate in a team environment
- Good knowledge of anatomy, physiology
- Extensive knowledge of Legal & Arbitration system
- Post Secondary Education preferred
- Completion of CIP designation or similar would be an asset
