Investor Relations' mandate is to communicate the Bank's financial performance and strategy to the investment community.
The incumbent will support Investor Relations (IR) and play a significant role in the preparation, review and delivery of key deliverables.
The incumbent will develop and maintains relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders and will be involved in the day-to-day tasks of the team, which includes ownership of key deliverables and coaching junior members of the team (as applicable).
We are currently seeking talented individuals for this opportunity, and are open to considering candidates at both the Manager and Senior Manager levels based on experience and qualifications.

Quarter-End and Year-End Reporting Deliverables
The quarter end deliverables are key pieces of the Investor Relations communication strategy at the Bank. It is considered a major information source for the for the institutional buy and sell-side professionals, as well as retail investors.
The Manager / Senior Manager contributes to the preparation, review and delivery of the Analyst Presentation, the Marketing Deck, internal quarter-end prep documents, etc.
This quarter-end process requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and critical thinking, as it includes liaising with other departments of the Bank and managing, gathering, compiling, and checking a significant amount of information to ensure the bank's reporting is accurate, consistent and complete.
Tracking Analyst Estimates and Commentary, and Peer Competitive Analysis
- The Manager / Senior Manager will play a key role in tracking estimates and analyzing commentary published by sell-side analysts covering the Bank.
- The Manager / Senior Manager will also play an important role in all competitive analysis that the IR team performs, synthesizing the information both reported by BNS and its peers to assess trends, provide insights, and assess relative outlook.
- The Manager / Senior Manager is responsible for analyzing and reviewing research reports and financial statements, summarizing estimates and results, and should be familiar with the terminology, valuation methods, financial statements, and able to assess and distill the information in a concise manner.
- This information plays a crucial role for the IR team in preparing briefing materials for the executive management team, as well as understanding external sentiment and expectations.
Annual Rating Agency Reviews
The Manager / Senior Manager will assist in preparing and reviewing meeting materials for the annual rating agency reviews, and throughout the year.
The Bank has relationships with all the major rating agencies.
Equity and Fixed Income Conferences and Marketing
Throughout the year, various members from the executive management team will participate in equity and fixed income conferences hosted by internal and external firms.
The Manager / Senior Manager will assist in the preparation of materials and the logistics required. Tasks may range from preparing profiles, preparing Q&A materials, reviewing and logging investor list for meetings, managing logistics, the IR website, etc.
Reporting and Tracking
The Manager / Senior Manager is responsible for tracking key data points for the IR Team (i.e., logging meetings / conferences, marketing progress, peer competitive data points, Bloomberg research).
Other
The IR team is regularly engaged in ad hoc projects and requests that the incumbent will support in (i.e., maintain the website, perform ad hoc competitive analysis, Board materials, Investor Days, etc.)
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have :
- A strong understanding of financial statements and associated disclosure is needed for all key aspects of the role
- High proficiency with Excel is mandatory (i.e. familiarity with Excel shortcuts and formulas and ability to manipulate data in an efficient and accurate manner (beyond pivot tables, etc.)).
- Familiarity with any of Factset, CapIQ, Thomson ONE, Bloomberg
- Excellent organizational and communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
- Self-motivated; able to work in a team and independently
- Experience in the Financial Institutions industry is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset, but not required
