The role works with functional leaders across the company to develop and maintain custom learning content using web-based instructional design software.

The role is responsible for designing and producing resources and tools used for instructional purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners with content providers, subject matter experts and key partners in the company to analyze learning requirements and identify solutions and delivery approaches for employee groups
  • Leads the design, development, and update / maintenance of Gateway’s custom web-based learning programs using appropriate standards (AICC / SCORM) in accordance with current instructional design methodology
  • Designs, develops, and / or updates non-web-based learning resources like training aids, training tools, and guides
  • Contribute to the collection and analysis of organizational learning trends, metrics and data to support data-driven insights to advance a cohesive culture of learning
  • Supports the company-wide community of training designers and facilitators to consistently design web-based learning solutions and adopt effective adult learning principle approaches in training delivery through formal coaching
  • Manages the sections of Gateway’s learning strategy specific to standardized training program design and consistent employee experience through learning
  • Support delivery of in-person learning initiatives or employee events
  • Provides back-up to Gateway’s Learning System Administrator to maintain day to day administrative functions as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • Adult Learning Certificate or Instructional Design Certificate or 4 or more years of commensurate experience
  • Formal certification for web-based learning design software (Articulate360, Storyline, SCORM packages preferred)
  • Experience with document design software (Adobe Creative, InDesign)
  • Learning management system / platform system admin experience (Percipio, Skillsoft)
  • Experience in gaming, food and beverage, or other areas of hospitality / entertainment industries an asset
  • Experience in a complex, multi-location company an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of instructional design principles
  • Advanced desktop publishing and document design skills
  • Technical skills required to administer learning management platforms
  • Technical skills associated e-learning development software
  • Effective time and project management skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to multi-task
  • People-focused team player who is passionate about promoting growth and development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize and visualize information in easy-to-understand formats
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and coaching skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements :

  • Office environment
  • Willing to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends
  • Occasional travel between sites in BC, AB and ON as required
