Business Analyst / Product Manager - Supply Chain - Job Description

  • As the IT Product Owner, you will be responsible for working with Business and Technical teams (the bridge) on the application / product strategy, roadmap and execution
  • The successful candidate will enjoy helping the team succeed by thinking about ways to improve processes, suggesting ways to make the team more effective, mentoring and modeling industry best practices
  • With a broad understanding of Supply Chain systems and business operations, the IT Product Owner role is intended to accomplish the following objectives :
  • Lead business workshops to define the application / product vision, roadmap, growth opportunities and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Build collaborative relationships with other teams and stakeholders within IT, business, vendors and other affiliates
  • Work closely with various business teams to create and maintain product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Partner with the Delivery Lead on projects
  • Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog
  • Develop detailed product feature specifications (user stories) and ensure the user stories / requirements are clearly understood by relevant teams
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy
  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint / release goals
  • Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions
  • Help ensure that increasingly integrated and complex projects are executed without problems
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units (e.g. : sales, finance, security, compliance) to develop analyses and project documentation in a collaborative way
  • Evaluate, analyze and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of periodic status reports to stakeholders
  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
  • Conduct requirements gathering by facilitating required meetings, liaising / interacting with the business to elicit information, preparing documentation and conducting project presentations
  • Lead Training sessions and User Testing (UAT) phases to avoid incidents related to inadequately tested or improperly ordered changes
  • Conduct Situation, Decision, Cost and Benefit Analysis when appropriate

Business Analyst / Product Manager - Supply Chain - Mandatory Skills

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the IT industry with strong knowledge of Supply Chain systems and processes
  • Experience in delivering complex and multi-stakeholder projects
  • Experience with agile, hybrid agile and waterfall practices (especially Agile / Scrum) and an ability to help lead our journey to reinvent how we drive our practices to become faster and more productive while not compromising both security and compliance
  • Experience in IT Product Owner and Business Analyst
  • Experience facilitating sessions, helping participants reach decisions and accomplish goals
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to foster cross-team alignment
  • Ability to coach and support teams on concepts and processes
  • Ability to lead and facilitate sessions (e.g. workshops), resolve disagreements between stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct high level interactions with the business at an equivalent or higher level of seniority and to engage in difficult discussions
  • Ability to use verbal communication to disseminate complex concepts
  • Ability to define and author clear and succinct project documents and to create engaging diagrams
  • Ability to create, present and publish the project status to senior level management
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strategic approach to work
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
