Financial Analyst (1-year contract)

Role Impact :

To develop, analyze and consolidate information for management and financial reporting and to scrutinize submitted data for propriety and reasonability.

What you will deliver :

  • Maintain monthly records and prepare analysis for consolidated results to ensure accuracy, reasonability and completeness as well as providing analysis and reporting on quarter-end and year-end requirements as required;
  • Maintain accounting for a portfolio of investments;
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly reports for distribution to senior management team and parent company;
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules as prescribed;
  • Liaise with external auditors and preparation for annual audit;
  • Test changes to financial reports ensuring they remain current and meaningful;
  • Develop or create new reports to improve monthly / quarterly reporting processes;
  • Analyze monthly cash requirements at property and corporate level to determine accurate cash forecasts for senior management;
  • Prepare monthly commodity and non-resident withholding tax remittances;
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

What your strengths are :

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management and administrative skills;

What you need to succeed :

  • University degree in Business and either accredited CPA or pursing CPA;
  • years accounting experience with relevant experience in a head office accounting team;
  • Experience working in the real estate industry and fully literate with real estate accounting policies and procedures an asset;
  • Working knowledge of IFRS;
  • Fully computer literate, with extensive excel skills;
  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager system an asset.
