Job Title : Systems Architect for PHP & Swift Financial Apps (Full-Stack Laravel Developer)

Location : Remote (LatAm Preferred)

Salary : $2,000 - $5,000 USD per month, depending on experience

Work Schedule : Flexible, but availability during EST hours is required.

Job Overview :

We are seeking a Systems Architect with strong expertise in PHP (Laravel) and Swift , capable of working across multiple platforms to maintain and enhance our custom retirement conversion software.

This software includes a financial web application built with Laravel and a Swift-based financial calculator . The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of handling legacy codebases , business-critical systems , and production issue resolution .

This is a hands-on technical role that requires innovative thinking and a problem-solving mindset.

Top Qualifications :

• Experience with Legacy Codebases : Significant experience working with existing codebases that were not of your own creation.
• Business-Critical Systems : Experience maintaining codebases directly tied to business revenue , such as systems used by employees for sales and customer service.
• Handling Production Issues : Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving production bugs in revenue-critical environments .

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and Maintain Applications : Use PHP (Laravel) to build and enhance web applications, ensuring high performance and seamless data flow between the Laravel and Swift components.
• Enhance Financial Calculations : Work on improving the Swift-based financial calculator and integrate it with the Laravel backend for accurate and efficient data processing.
• Legacy Codebase Management : Refactor and maintain existing systems to ensure they meet current business needs, focusing on revenue-critical aspects.
• Infrastructure Management : Assist with server setup, maintenance, and deployment environments using Docker and Shell scripting .
• Production Issue Resolution : Quickly diagnose and resolve software bugs in environments critical to business revenue.
• Optimize Performance : Focus on the accuracy, performance, and efficiency of financial calculations across both systems.
• Collaborate with the Team : Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Documentation : Write clear and concise documentation to enable other developers to contribute effectively to the project.
• Available During EST Hours : Be accessible during critical times , especially EST working hours , to ensure rapid response to urgent issues.

Additional Qualifications :

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role, working with PHP, Laravel, and Swift.
• Proficiency in PHP (Laravel) , with practical experience using Blade templates and object-oriented programming (OOP) .
• Swift Experience : Proven experience with financial calculations in Swift, or the ability to migrate Swift-based logic to the Laravel backend.
• Infrastructure Skills : Familiarity with Shell scripting , Docker , and server management.
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to identify multiple solutions to a problem and implement the best one.
• Integration Experience : Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and connecting various components of a tech stack.
• Communication Skills : Strong ability to convey technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively within a remote team.
• English Proficiency : Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.

Nice-to-Haves :

• Financial Services Experience : Previous experience working with financial applications and understanding complex financial equations .
• Database Management : Knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL for database optimization.
• Digital Ocean Experience : Familiarity with Digital Ocean for deployment and infrastructure.
