Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the packaging and labeling process between customers and suppliers for the Foodservice and Industrial segment of the company while communicating with other departments internally to keep everyone updated and meet strict deadlines.
Food Service
- Oversee packaging development while communicating with customers and suppliers to ensure that packaging proofs are approved and are compliant with import regulations (USA / Canada), while managing printer lead times and coordinating with the rest of the team to ensure the product is delivered on time.
- Design and / or update artwork using Illustrator.
- Communicating and coordinating with customers, printers, suppliers, and the internal team involved in a project.
- Working together with the internal Food Safety team to ensure creation of Nutritional Facts Panels and Ingredients statement is started as soon as possible.
Industrial
- Communicate and follow up with suppliers and customers to ensure the accuracy of labels for compliance with import regulations (USA / Canada / LATAM).
- Coordinate with other internal departments to ensure product packaging and labeling are delivered on time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of experience in packaging and / or labeling, ideally from within the food industry.
- Customer service experience is a must.
- Familiarity with industry regulations (FDA, USDA, Health Canada) labeling standards is an asset.
- Familiarity with policies and trends in sustainable packaging solutions to align with corporate responsibility initiatives.
- Good at multitasking, very organized, and works well under pressure.
- Pays attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple packaging projects at once and ensure timely delivery.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Due to the nature of the role, must be autonomous.
- Efficient at solving problems and being proactive when trying to get answers.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe PDF Editor, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
