Job Summary :
Student Wellness invites applications for the Manager, Student Wellness position for a full-time, one year term.
The Manager will play a key role in assisting in the development and coordination of wellness promotion strategies and initiatives in fulfillment of UFV’s commitment to our students’ wellbeing and resilience.
This position provides day-to-day oversight and leadership to the Wellness Department. The successful candidate will use assessment, evaluation, and consultation to understand students’ experiences and needs and to inform the design and delivery of communication outreach, programs and initiatives designed to enhance student wellbeing and resilience.
The Manager will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure student health and wellness needs are being addressed and that wellbeing is imbedded in various institutional processes and activities.
The Manager will also play an active role in development and facilitation of training of faculty, staff, and peer mentors in support of student wellness and resilience.

Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Counselling Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Nursing, Health Education, or equivalent.
- Five (5) years’ related experience in the field of psychoeducation and mental health, health promotion, and / or health education.
Experience working in a post-secondary environment will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in health and wellness promotion.
- Excellent knowledge of issues impacting post-secondary student mental health and wellbeing, including those related to international students, Indigeneity, 2SGBTQIA+ and other diverse intersecting identities.
- Excellent knowledge of the social determinants of health and wellbeing and the intersection between diversity, equity and inclusion and health and wellbeing.
- Experience in designing and facilitating workshops.
- Experience collaborating, planning, and implementing large scale initiatives in a complex organization.
- Experience creating and implementing health promotion outreach programs and communication campaigns.
- Excellent knowledge of health promotion theory (example socio-ecological approach) and positive psychology.
- Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, mentorship, and facilitation skills, including the ability to develop collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and evaluate programs using qualitative and quantitative methods.
