The Opportunity :
As the Associate Director of Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for overseeing the external financial reporting function.
This role requires a candidate with a strong technical accounting background, preferably with Big 4 experience, and a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience.
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) in accordance with IFRS.
Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting accounting position papers and technical accounting analysis, as well as providing support for the company's public and private reporting.
Success Criteria & Deliverables :
At 3 Months :
- Developed strong relationships with key financial stakeholders
- Gained a solid understanding of the company's business and finance function
- Familiarized yourself with the financial reporting process
At 1 Year :
- Implemented process improvements to eliminate manual workarounds and increase accuracy
- Identified opportunities to improve internal controls and processes and prioritized their implementation
- Take ownership of the financial reporting process, including preparation of financial statements and MD&A
- Serve as the company's expert on technical accounting matters
- Contribute significantly to the completion of year-end audits
What We Need From You :
- CPA designation
- 8+ years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with M&A activities and acquisition reporting
- Working knowledge of Onestream and Workiva systems
- Experience with process re-engineering and ability to automate processes
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
- Experience with external audit preparation
- Familiarity with IFRS and technical accounting research
- Experience in treasury and statement of cashflow analysis
- A passion for making a positive impact on global health through cost-effective healthcare solutions
