JOB SUMMARY
This is a field service position responsible for electrical repairs and maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Install electrical equipment located in either the field or shop in accordance to applicable code requirements.
- Repair and maintain existing electrical equipment on drilling rigs, shop and office locations.
- Complete field service tickets, time entry, vehicle logs and expense reports.
- Operate and maintain a company vehicle in accordance to Nabors policies.
- Flexible to assist in warehouse duties as required.
- Report to Field Service Supervisor or Electrical Manager depending on location or task.
- Work in a safe manner as defined by Nabors policies and accepted industry practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :
- Minimum 1 year Journeyman electrician experience in oil & gas industry required.
- Journeyman Electrician certificate.
- WHMIS.
- ARC Flash training.
- H2S Alive.
- Valid Driver’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Preferred Experience :
- VFD / SCR / Generator.
- AC and DC motor / drive.
- Allen Bradley PLC Programming.
Qualifications
BEHAVIORAL COMPENTENCIES
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
- Able to mentor apprentice electricians.
TECHNICAL COMPENTENCIES
- Strong electrical / technical knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of rig based electrical systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position requires extensive travel.
- Work a predetermined schedule, with possible overtime as operational needs dictate.
- Willing to work out of town.
- Able to live in a dry camp environment when working out of town.
