Reporting to the Lead Quality Assurance Analyst, an Intermediate Quality Assurance Analyst participates on the different stages of software development from planning a feature to release to production.

They are expected to perform well with a team and manage their own work with minimal supervision. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills plus a drive to keep up to date with new technologies in the field is a must.

Familiarity with the concept of automation and willingness to participate in development of such tests is essential for this role.

Skill Set

  • 5+ years in Quality Assurance focusing on web application testing
  • Familiar with commonly used software technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Database, HTTP Requests
  • Experienced with using test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr Scale, Zephyr Squad, Xray and project management tools like Azure DevOps and Jira
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Solid understanding of various testing methodologies and concepts, as well as how to apply them as needed
  • Ability to create and perform effective test cases and plans to ensure quality of work items
  • Ability to identify and document defects effectively to provide proper feedback to the development team
  • Able to categorize and prioritize defects and coverage to balance completion time and quality risk
  • Ability to learn and understand project functional requirements and logic, highlighting requirement gaps as needed
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility of assigned tasks and projects
  • Strong ability to multitask and stay focused on the task at hand
  • Works well with colleagues from either same or different departments
  • Able to perform complex testing and data validations
  • Able to work in an agile environment and familiarity with software development processes
  • Understands basic programming concepts and willing to learn new technologies as they are used in different projects
  • Willing to learn and perform simple automation tasks using low code or no code frameworks, actual experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Participate in reviews of requirements, specifications, and other testing deliverables
  • Design manual test cases and plans to ensure applications or features being developed are of high quality and are delivered on a timely manner
  • Review and update existing test cases to improve coverage and accuracy
  • Perform and document results for various types of manual testing against existing and new products or features
  • Document defects uncovered during testing and work with the development team to fix reported issues
  • Communicate effectively with the stakeholders on the status of the project / feature being worked on
  • Participate in process improvements and possible changes that can be implemented to increase efficiency throughout the different teams
  • Collaborate with other QAs by participating in peer reviews to ensure quality testing is performed
  • Create automated tests using low code framework to improve regression efforts
  • Assist in executing automated tests and reviewing test results
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Occasionally provide support outside of normal business hours as needed
