Description

Join our team :

The SMB Strategy, Planning & Business Intelligence team is responsible for driving the profitable growth of our SMB (Small to Medium Business) P&L through strategic program development, P&L management, and strategic insights, while serving an advisory role for cross-functional stakeholders such as our Marketing, Pricing, and Finance teams.

Within this high-performance team, we are the Managed IT Planning & Insights team, reporting to the Director of SMB Strategy & Enablement.

Our team's focus is on gaining a deep understanding of our business and customers, and using it to envision, build, and articulate the innovative strategies that will help us win in the Canadian B2B telecom space.

We also work closely with our leadership team to help communicate and drive these strategies across the organization.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together :

As a Senior Strategy Manager on our Managed IT Planning & Insights team, you'll be the Planning, Forecasting and Insights prime for our fast-growing Managed IT portfolio.

You'll keep your finger on the pulse of our business performance, build relationships across the organization to inform your perspectives, and help us take our strategy and planning processes to the next level of accuracy and relevance.

As the team works through key strategic questions, you'll use the insights you've uncovered from your research and analysis to help guide recommendations to executive leadership.

You'll also work with internal stakeholders across the Marketing, Business Intelligence, Finance, and Product teams to support the annual, quarterly, and monthly business and financial planning processes for our Managed IT P&L, while also navigating strategic reviews of the Managed IT financial budget and key operating metrics, business case development, and ad-hoc deep dives to enable executive decision support

This means you'll be doing detailed analysis and developing your storytelling ability, while also getting exposure to our senior leadership team and helping lead the charge on our overall strategic direction.

Lastly, we're a small and entrepreneurial team, so you'll have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of ad-hoc business cases, strategic deliverables, and performance outlooks throughout the year.

Here's how :

You will collaborate closely with our Managed IT business stakeholders as well as our Wireless and Wireline Planning teams to understand, evaluate, and aggregate key performance outlooks for the month, quarter, year, and beyond.

You'll build deep relationships with our Finance stakeholders to collaborate on inputs to our financial reporting and key budget / triage planning cycles, as well as investigating changes to underlying business performance, assessing key market shifts, and sizing the business impact of opportunities and risks.

Using primary and secondary research, you'll keep a pulse on the latest customer and market trends affecting our segments, and use this to complement your understanding.

Armed with your insights, you will support the development and delivery of strategic recommendations to an executive-level audience.

Qualifications

Here's what you bring to the table :

Storyteller : You enjoy distilling a lot of complex information into a simple, compelling story for an audience, and you're looking to take this skill to the next level.

Data Miner : You love digging into a new set of data. You'll analyze it, pivot it, and seek out new trends, working in MS Excel / Google Sheets to document customer / market insights.

Visionary : You see the bigger picture of the problem you're trying to solve, and will proactively seek out new internal and external data points to complement your approach.

Chameleon : Uncertainty and ad-hoc asks don't faze you; you're at home in an ever-changing environment and enjoy getting up to speed on new areas of the business

Nice to have :

  • 3-5 years of experience in a management consulting, internal strategy, or FP&A capacity
  • Past experience / interest in telecommunications / technology or managed IT services
  • Past experience / interest in B2B marketing
  • Data analysis / visualization experience (Tableau, DOMO, SQL, etc.)
