Our client, an established Vancouver based Real Estate Developer seeks a Senior Development Manager with extensive expertise in real estate development to lead and execute a diverse range of residential, mixed-use projects, commercial, and industrial product types.

As the key driver of project success, the role will drive the entire development process from concept to completion for various projects.

The ideal candidate will be pro-active, organized, ambitious and have excellent schedule management skills. A strong network and relationship with various city planning group, along with a deep understanding of municipalities directives and processes, will be a great asset in this role.

Senior Development Manager Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Senior Development Manager’s overall focus is to be accountable for project schedules, budget and key deliverables (drawings, permits, budgets etc.).
  • Plan and schedule project timelines, cash flows, and milestones using appropriate tolls and resources.
  • Direct the execution of multiple projects, managing both internal and external teams to ensure successful completion. Oversee the design, approval, and implementation of projects, ensuring they meet financial goals.
  • Serve as company’s liaison with municipal staff and politicians to support applications and secure necessary permits for rezoning, development, and construction.
  • Act as the representative for company in dealings with municipal staff and politicians to support applications and secure necessary rezoning, development, and building permits.
  • Lead initiatives to engage with the public, acting as the primary contact for company within the community.
  • Advise in the acquisition and planning of land and properties, report and materialize engineering opportunities, report risks and issues which surface from time to time, particularly through identifying technical issues during conceptual design and DP phase.
  • Prepare and maintain business plans and development proformas for accurate project reporting.
  • Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to development management, taking full responsibility for the strategic and business aspects of successful project execution.
  • Travel as needed for company business.
  • Undertake various related duties as required.

Senior Development Manager Qualifications :

  • Preferred degree in Real Estate, Commerce, Urban Land Economics, Architecture, Planning, Legal, or Engineering., or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, particularly in multi-family residential and commercial projects, with a focus on completion and delivery.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a strong history of team management.
  • Specific experience with high-rise mixed-use developments.
  • Competence in managing projects from inception to completion, with the capability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven success in seeing projects through construction to completion, including strata titling and air space parcel management.
  • Thorough knowledge of the real estate market, including market analysis, trends, project launches, competitor activity, and land regulations.
  • A well-established network of contacts within municipal, consultancy, and development circles.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Senior Development Manager Renumeration :

$140,000 - $170,000 Base, Bonus, Extended health care
