It is a comprehensive university renowned for its culture of excellence in teaching and research.Job DescriptionThe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of smart systems and cyber-physical systems. While not exhaustive, the main areas of interest include : Imaging systemsSensorsInfrared vision2D / 3D visionVirtual and augmented realitySmart environmentsMachine learningSelection criteriasCandidates must meet the following criteria : Hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a relevant discipline related to the research area of the position, or be close to completing a Ph.D. (thesis submitted).Demonstrate relevance of academic background and experience to the identified field.Show proven ability to conduct university-level research.Exhibit potential to develop independent and original research activities in the specified area.Demonstrate abilities or potential for university-level teaching across all levels, supervising graduate students, and a commitment to pedagogical innovation.Show evidence or commitment to community service.Possess communication skills and the ability to integrate into the French-speaking context of the institution (within a reasonable timeframe and ideally upon starting the position).Align professional potential with the key competencies required for a professorial role : Analytical skills, synthesis, and judgmentCreativity and innovationCommunication skillsInterpersonal skills and opennessTeamwork and collaboration with partnersAutonomy and sense of responsibilityEthics and responsabilty.Supervisory skillsBe a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or eligible to become one within a reasonable timeframe.Hiring and treatmentConditionsSalary will be determined based on the current collective agreement.Additional informationWhile establishing your research program, you will be supported in securing funding from government agencies and industry.
