Location : We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager for the food service operation at the Vancouver Convention Centre .

Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to the Vancouver Convention Centre. Located on Vancouver's waterfront with a dramatic mountain backdrop, the award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre offers one of the most beautiful settings in the world. As British Columbia's flagship convention centre, the facility hosts more than 500 events / year and welcomes hundreds of thousands of attendees each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province .

Principal Function :

The Assistant General Manager serves as a right hand to the General Manager. As a visible and senior member of the of the unit-level Leadership Team, they will exemplify and display unquestionable ethical conduct in both business and personal dealings, as they are responsible to model Sodexo Live!'s vision and values, ensuring in all ways for the customer, employees, the industry and the local community that Sodexo Live! is held in the highest regard.

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing and maximizing the productivity of the operations and administrative staff and is accountable for directing and coordinating the resources, tasks, requirements and processes related to the unit's day-to-day operating budget. They will provide support and hands-on assistance to plan, prepare, oversee, report and reconcile the unit's on-going business activities to ensure its commercial success.

The Assistant General Manager will contribute to Sodexo Live!'s goal to be #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through the performance of activities geared toward the creation of an energized and positive work environment for all venue staff. Working in close partnership with the unit's various divisions and key department heads, the Assistant General Manager will create, lead and execute food and beverage experiences that exceed guest expectations and maximize revenue while controlling expenses.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Oversees the procurement, production, preparation, service and sale of food and refreshments for all outlets within assigned units.
• Communicates and promotes Sodexo Live!'s culture and values; Provides hands-on leadership and direction department heads and staff.
• Ensures compliance with company standards, client specifications, contractual obligations, and other legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Manages the financial performance of the venue through effective control of expenses and through the development, analysis and implementation of budgets, sales plans and forecasts.
• Participates in the recruitment, selection and training processes as needed for assigned unit.
• Identifies and responds to client and customer feedback and assists in escalated situations as necessary.
