Job description
Job Overview
Reporting to the Accountant, as the Credit Assistant and AP Administrator you assist with the management of the company’s finance and accounting departments with separate and distinct duties associated with the each of the positions.
Your day-to-day responsibilities – AR – Credit Assistant
Utilizing proper procedures and enforcing policies for credits and payment collections.
Preparing, reviewing and analyzing accounts receivable aging reports.
Processing payments made via credit cards and creating new credit and cash accounts in the system.
Monitoring receipt and record of cheque payments.
Maintaining complete and accurate account information in the database and on file.
Conducting account reviews and corresponding with customers regarding changes in their status.
Sending customer statements and following up on inquiries as required.
Monitoring and expediting payments from customers to ensure payments are fully received.
Following up with collection of delinquent accounts.
Your day-to-day responsibilities – Accounts Payable
Reviewing, coding and entering invoices or expenditures for payment. Matching invoices to purchase orders, ensuring correct approvals are obtained and resolving discrepancies as required.
Understanding and scheduling payments to ensure compliance with prompt payment legislation and / or vendor discount terms.
Preparing cheque runs and reconciling vendor accounts and credit card statements.
Responding to vendor inquiries and coordinating with vendors regarding invoices, payments and discrepancies.
Providing support to other accounting and administrative related duties as required.

Essential Requirements
High school diploma, or equivalent.
Accounting certificate / diploma is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and accounting programs (Bistrack and Great Plains or similar).
