At our Edmonton plant, we are hiring a full-time Process Operator who is responsible for operating the Haarslav evaporator system, feather hydrolyser, boiler operations, blood processing equipment and environmental equipment used in the processing of various raw materials. Controlling various machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner to minimize downtime, and ensuring operations meet the company standards are important tasks of this role.
This is a full-time, permanent position for 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Control the flow of poultry and / or porcine products through pumps and other internal processesManage internal steam pressures, pump speeds, time and temperatures, motor loads, conveyors, and augersMonitor the entire system to ensure Critical Control Point (CCP) standards are metMaintain a high standard of cleanliness within control rooms and cooking areasTest product on a regular basis to ensure quality standards are metMaintain applicable HACCP documentationControl the flow of raw feathers manage speed, temperature, steam controls, metering bins, motor loads and driersMonitor the entire system to ensure CCP standards are metWork in conjunction with the Blood and Feather Operator to ensure safe operation of systemsMonitor blood centrifuge, dryer and mill processes to ensure HACCP requirements are metWork in conjunction with the Blood and Feather Operator to ensure safe operation of systemsActively monitor boilers and associated equipment used for steam generationMonitor waste water and air handling equipment to ensure all applicable environmental requirements are metWork in conjunction with the Evaporator System Operators and Blood and Feather Operators to ensure safe operation of systemsPerform water tests routinely as instructed as well as collection of samples for offsite testing as requiredQUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate, with Steam Engineer accreditation requiredAbility to troubleshoot and solve process related issuesPrevious experience in a similar production environment or industry preferredCertified in operating skid-steers and / or forkliftsStrong knowledge of all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP practicesAbility to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
