Position Summary :

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the efficient handling, storage, shipping, and receiving of materials, goods, and products within the warehouse. This role ensures all warehouse activities are performed in accordance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The Warehouse Coordinator will work closely with other departments to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials to meet production and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Material Handling :

  • Efficiently identify, count, and handle materials, parts, and products, ensuring accuracy in picking, storing, and movement.
  • Verify part identification by reviewing paperwork and visually inspecting for discrepancies or damage.
  • Conduct cycle counts and maintain physical inventory to support stock accuracy.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely to move materials within the warehouse.

Shipping & Receiving :

  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Prepare and inspect shipments, ensuring all items are packaged correctly and meet quality standards.
  • Label and pack products for shipment, ensuring proper documentation is provided.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting for damage and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with carriers and shipping providers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Inventory Management :

  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and packaging supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure inventory storage is organized and that materials are readily accessible for production or shipment.
  • Operational Efficiency :

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment by following best practices for housekeeping and safety.
  • Assist with warehouse organization, ensuring all areas are well-stocked, labeled, and easily navigable.
  • Collaborate with the management to meet production schedules and address material handling challenges.
  • Communication & Documentation :

  • Maintain accurate records of all material movements, including shipments, receipts, and inventory counts.
  • Routinely update inventory management systems with the status of material movements.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments (e.g., Production, Purchasing) to resolve any issues related to material shortages or delays.
  • Other Duties :

  • Provide backup support for other warehouse tasks, as needed.
  • Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • What You Bring to Ampco :

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • 3+ years prior experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and shipping / receiving procedures.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and familiarity with safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in materials handling and order fulfillment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions, schedules, and safety procedures effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
  • Basic math skills for inventory and shipping calculations.

  • Pay Range : The typical hiring range for this position is from $19.00 - $24.75 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
