Job description

The Director Marketing Communications is responsible for delivering Leads and Revenue growth for a priority portfolio through media and advertising. We are looking for a self-starter and creative leader with a passion to drive growth, engaging consumers and conceptualizing strategic annual plans. The Director leads a team of 3 while leveraging Media and Advertising agencies relationships, and working in collaboration with Product Management, Strategy, Call Center and Sales teams. Proven ability to drive revenue growth in consumer driven businesses is a must. He / she will play a key role in transforming the company’s flagship portfolio in a highly competitive and dynamic markets. Responsible for sizeable advertising budget.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic / Operational Initiatives

  • Create annual portfolio growth plans in collaboration with product, website and strategy teams. Growth plans will include consumer message, media plans, creative approach, and budget.
  • Creative execution across all media vehicles including TV, Radio, Social and Paid Search. Includes production of original advertising and paid search message optimizations.
  • Budget optimization : Finds new ways to optimize media spend as well as ensure annual budget delivery.
  • Tracking and Delivery of Growth plans accountable to the executive team for monthly and annual delivery of results including lead generation, revenue growth and consumer metrics.
  • People Development : Create and develop a team that is inspired to deliver results. Develop team members for succession planning.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Field support : Interacts with Sales teams to build local support plans tailored to the needs of the branches. Maintains the branches informed about portfolio news, launches and initiatives.
  • Key Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in Business or Marketing and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a marketing management capacity within a customer driven business. Previous experience within both B2C and B2B environments
  • Extensive expertise and proven success leveraging social media to drive growth.
  • Good balance between creative & analytics skillset. Right brain and left-brain balance
  • Commercially oriented, digitally savvy
  • Experience producing original consumer facing creative and social media
  • Experience leading a team, driving collaboration, and influencing without authority
  • Willing to learn, results oriented
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, agile mindset and approach
  • Keen sense of urgency, self-driven and ability to triage based on business needs and criticality
  • Someone who is driven to take on challenges and find opportunities
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
