A DAY AS A JUNIOR COUNSELLOR
Reporting to the camp coordinator, the junior counsellor will work with children aged 5 to 12 and ensure that they have a safe and meaningful camp experience. The junior counsellor will plan and lead age-appropriate activities for children. They will help with childcare services and occasionally participate in other aspects of camp.
In this position, you will be responsible for :
- Supporting camp counsellors in their daily tasks;
- Planning and leading fun activities for the pre- and post-camp childcare services in collaboration with your fellow activity leader;
- Helping to ensure the safety of the group;
- Communicating with parents / guardians in a courteous manner to develop and maintain positive relationships with them and the children;
- Participating in preparatory meetings and required training sessions.

Be over 16 years old.Have a good command of French and English.Be able to swim or be comfortable in a pool.Have a passion for working with children (an asset)KEY SKILLS

A pleasant work environment at YMCA Saint-Roch.An hourly wage of $ 16.50.Fees for first aid, CPR and rescue training (if you’re not already certified), as training is a prerequisite for the position. Please note, however, that training time is unpaid.Variable working hours : Monday to Friday, mornings and late afternoons – 25 to 40 hours a week as needed.Meetings and training to guide and support you : May 4 (signature of contract) and evenings and weekends during the month of JuneAre you tempted by this great opportunity?
