Registered Nurse Clinical Scholar - Operating Room #368-24

STATUS : FULL-TIME

WAGE RATE : $39.07 – $56.00

Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Scholar RN is an experienced OR nurse who functions in a supernumerary role to provide mentorship to new graduate nurses and nurses needing support with clinical skills related to pre, intra and post-operative care in the operating room. The Clinical Scholar RN works in collaboration with the OR Coordinator and Resource Nurses.

Skills / Abilities / Qualifications

Required

• Current Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses : Registered Nurse
• Successful completion of the Operating Room certificate (and preferably at least two years of OR experience)
• Preferably 5 years Operating Room Experience
• Ability to scrub and circulate in all services
• Knowledge of the current ORNAC standards
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
• Ability to function as a team member
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to flex time to meet unit’s need
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
• Ability to respond to urgent / emergency situations
• Must be willing to take call and be available to reach the hospital within 20 minutes
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
