What you’ll do :
- Support the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding and talent management of employees, employee relations and payroll & benefit administration.
- Develop, implement and maintain health and safety programs. Coordinate and facilitate health and safety training needs including safety orientation;
this also includes maintaining training records. Support the OH&S committee and assist with incident investigations and hazard identifications
- Review safety and employment regulations and ensure policies and procedures are up to date and follow best practice.
- Provide guidance on WCB and other leave of absences and support Return to Work programs.
- Provide coaching and support to team leaders and team members on all aspects of talent management practices, including goal setting, performance management, talent development, succession planning, onboarding, and exiting employees
- Provide coaching and assistance with the disciplinary process, including leading investigations, involvement in disciplinary meetings, advising on corrective action and formulating communication and record keeping.
- Other Human Resources and Safety related duties and projects as assigned.
Who you’ll work with :
The Team : You will work closely with and report to the General Manager. The team strives to cultivate a culture of teamwork and provide the best service possible to the leaders and employees of North Country Co-op.
The Collaborators : You will work closely with team leaders from all departments within North Country Co-op by providing support and guidance on HR and Health & Safety topics and requirements.
The Community : Plamondon is a small French community in Northern Alberta nestled between several beautiful Provincial Parks.
The Hamlet has a rich history, diverse culture, and a population of 350 with a rural population of 1,500. There are two schools, two restaurants, a boutique, a thrift store, and a Festival Center (Hall).

Who you are :
You are looking for a career in Human Resources & Training and :
- Have 3-6 years experience in Human Resources or Health & Safety
- Have a Degree or Diploma in Business or Human Resources Management (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
- Are familiar with HR and Health & Safety best practices
- You are honest, trustworthy and a strong communicator
- A designation in Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) would be considered an asset, but not required
