The City of Edmonton is looking for a Facility Partnerships and Event Liaison! The Facility Partnerships and Event Liaison understands the positioning of the Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre as a unique facility with sport-specific partnerships integrated into a large public recreation centre. The vision for this facility is to meet the recreation, leisure and sport needs of the community as well as to enhance sport development opportunities at all levels for cyclists and triathletes. For these two sports, the centre will serve as a year-round training and event facility. What you will do :
- Management of Facility Partnerships including operational coordination with Partners :
Educate all in- and external users of the facility on the mission, vision, needs and expectations for this unique facility.
Manage the sport partnerships with the Alberta Velodrome Association (AVA) and World Triathlon Series Edmonton (WTSE), who both played an immense role in realizing the vision for an indoor velodrome and triathlon training centre within Edmonton.Work closely with AVA to ensure the cycling track operations are welcoming and seamlessly integrated into the overall facility operations.Liaise with WTSE to ensure their access rights are provided and integrated into the public recreation programming / service schedules.Manage / administer all partner contracts, as well as the processes by which they are created, amended, renewed and agreed to.Liaise and build strong relationships with Coronation site stakeholders / partners.Actively investigate and pursue opportunities to leverage partnerships for mutual benefit.Support all work related to facility budget, especially with regards to partner payments and event-related expenses and revenues.Lead or represent COE / CPSRC at various Committees related to the facility.Event Coordination and event-related operational support :Act as the liaison between AVA, WTSE and the Section’s Sport Group and Events Support team to establish the facility’s annual event calendar.
Communicate event-related information to all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Actively contribute and support the planning, preparation, implementation and debriefing of events as needed.Be a main point of contact from the City’s perspective during events.Support facility operations during event set up and take down.Liaise with AVA and WTSE, Civic Events, Explore Edmonton on event strategies for the facility.Facility Team and Section Team Support :Manage the facility details that create a ready and welcoming environment.
Integrate with the Facility sub-teams and build / maintain great working relationships.Lead the response to any comments from customers, partners or others.Support the Facility Lead on operational matters related to OH&S.Facilitate a solution-focused approach when challenges arise.Support the facility team as well as the Branch as needed.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline.Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in working with partners ideally in the field of sports or recreation.Experience engaging, communicating, influencing and collaborating with partners, external stakeholders and internal staff at all levels.Experience working with sport organizations in the area of partnerships, operations, facility development and agreement management.Assets :
Experience planning, organizing, executing events.Background / experience in sports in general and in cycling and / or triathlon in particular.Skills required for success :
Ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Strong ability to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of partners, stakeholders and staff.Excellent interpersonal, team, and customer service skills.Strong conflict management, problem solving and consensus building skills.Time management and organizational skills are essential for the success of this role.Ability to interpret and understand legal agreement terms and conditions.Strong business acumen with solid understanding of budgets and variance analysis.Strong working knowledge of Google applications.Demonstrate service excellence, embracing diversity and promoting inclusiveness.Work Environment :
This position requires the staff to work on-site. Evening and weekend hours will be required regularly to support events.Conditions of Employment :
