Job description

The Acsenda School of Management (ASM) in Vancouver, BC invites applications for the position of Program Director - Marketing Management. This full-time faculty position presents an exciting opportunity to deliver (and develop) innovative and high-quality teaching and learning and assessment (at undergraduate and post-graduate levels), that reflect the current skills needs in Vancouver, BC and further afield.

As one of seven concentrations within our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree the Marketing Management option plays a key role in ASM’s mission. The Program Director will join a collaborative and innovative leadership team, partnering with both Senior Vice Presidents, fellow program directors, and other ASM leaders to strengthen and elevate the reputation of the program and ASM.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing the marketing concentration’s academic reputation, and teaching quality in alignment with ASM’s mission and strategic priorities. The position entails fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusion while overseeing faculty development, resource allocation, and program operations.

You will undertake a variety of duties including, but not restricted to, curriculum and content design, assessment development and marking, personal tuition, student management, as well as teaching activities and their oversight.

The Program Director will lead efforts to recruit and retain top-tier faculty, enhance everyday scholarship, elevate the student experience, and strengthen relationships with industry partners.

Key Responsibilities of this role include :

Strategic Leadership

  • Maintain a sophisticated understanding of the current skills and capability requirements of the Marketing sector, including an appreciation of how technology is impacting the workplace, the professions and job roles.
  • Bring professional expertise and an understanding of the current corporate landscape into teaching and learning.
  • Foster a collegial, collaborative, and inclusive culture among faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ensure that program initiatives align with the ASM’s strategic objectives, including DQAB accreditation standards for faculty scholarship, teaching quality, and continuous improvement.

Faculty Development and Scholarship

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-quality faculty members.
  • Facilitate faculty development and recognition, supporting excellence in everyday scholarship and teaching.
  • Ensure that the program remains active with relevant professional bodies such as the Canadian Marketing Association.
  • Academic Program and Curriculum

  • Lead curriculum development to ensure relevance, innovation, and rigor across undergraduate and future graduate education programs.
  • Develop and deliver high quality teaching and learning materials including course outlines, classroom and webinar content, topic guidance and activity checklists that reflect current corporate and professional body priorities.
  • Develop relevant and appropriate assessments with marking guidance.
  • Champion efforts to enhance teaching quality and student learning outcomes.
  • Teaching Responsibilities

  • Maintain a minimum teaching load of four (4) courses per year (one per term).
  • Resource Management

  • Oversee teaching delivery, assessments, course scheduling, and program staffing.
  • Collaborate with the SVPAs’ offices to advocate for resources and support faculty initiatives.
  • Industry and Alumni Engagement

  • Strengthen relationships with industry leaders, alumni, and Program Advisory Committees to enhance program reputation and impact.
  • Facilitate opportunities for faculty-industry partnerships and experiential learning for students (e.g. Ripen projects and practicums)
  • Service and Outreach

  • Represent the program within ASM and broader academic community.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across faculty, staff, and students.
  • Engage in thought leadership to elevate the program's visibility and impact.
  • A deep commitment to inclusion diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) is fundamental to this role. The Program Director will work collegially and collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds, supporting an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

    Additional Information :

    This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements.

    This role will require the incumbent to perform the duties on site on campus or in the physical office. At the direction of the company, this role may from time to time be required to work remotely, (away from the physical office location). Regardless of work location key targets, tasks, goals and projects must be delivered in accordance with position description and area or entity OGSM (Objective, Goals, Strategies and Measures).
