System Engineer

Position : Systems Engineer Location : Hybrid 1-2 days per week onsite, Downtown Toronto Job Type : Full-Time, Permanent. About the Role : We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support and maintain a hybrid DevOps environment, including Azure Cloud, Linux, and Solaris servers. This role focuses on automation, system administration, security, and reliability to ensure seamless operations.Responsibilities :

• Automate & Optimize : Develop scripts, tools, and processes using DevOps practices, YAML, JavaScript, and Ansible.
• Infrastructure Management : Build, provision, and maintain systems with Terraform (IaC) and Red Hat Satellite.
• Security & Compliance : Implement automated security controls and governance processes.
• System & Middleware Support : Manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), APIM, Confluent Cloud Kafka, and middleware components.
• CI / CD & Performance : Support CI / CD pipelines, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize systems.
• Monitoring & Reliability : Use tools like New Relic to track system performance, create alerts, and develop synthetic monitoring scripts in JavaScript.
• Documentation : Maintain and update operational procedures and technical documentation. What You Bring :
• Experience managing Azure Cloud, Red Hat Linux, and Solaris in a hybrid environment.
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI / CD pipeline management.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Red Hat Satellite.
• Proficiency in monitoring, logging, and synthetic monitoring development using New Relic and JavaScript.
• Ability to collaborate with DevOps and development teams in an Agile setting.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• On-Call Support : Participate in a 24 / 7 on-call rotation to ensure system uptime and rapid incident response.
