We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Analyst. It is an 8-month contract to start that will likely extend from there.
Key Details :
- Hybrid Environment : On-site 3-days per week
- Travel : Will be required to travel to multiple dispatch centers within Ontario
- Must Have : Experience with Public Safety Answering Point Telecommunication Equipment Systems (i.e. Communication Console System, Trunked Radio System, or Conventional Communication Solution)
To be successful in this role, the Systems Analyst should have :
5 - 10+ years experience as a Systems AnalystExperience with the projects related to 24x7 critical environments and operationsExperience working in the PSRN projectUnderstanding of emergency health services including ambulance communications.Knowledge of systems analysis and design methods and techniques to develop system solutions and to manage servers and applicationsDemonstrated knowledge of testing and implementation methods and practices for testing and acceptanceExperience in the application of theories, principles and practices of voice, data, radio, information technology and satellite telecommunications engineering.Experience with Local Area Network and various network topologies / configurationsExperience with systems and business operational disciplines and processes; skills in negotiation, conflict and problem resolution, change management and project coordination; current knowledge in new technologies and trends that may benefit emergency health services.Ability to use basic Radio Frequency test equipment such as multi-meter, voltmeter, system monitor or analyzerKnowledge of server and network technologies, hardware and facilities requirements (data centres) along with IT security policies to identify and evaluate IT options for clients and to design, develop and implement technology solutionsExperience with IP based telephony system such as Avaya and CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) solutionsExperience with integrated voice and data switching systems, computer data communications architecture, radio-trunking systems design and P25 standardsExperience with VHF and UHF radio technologiesExperience with public safety dispatch systems integration and interface requirements to support continued interoperability of all systems and servicesUnderstanding of emergency health services including ambulance communications, operations and practices associated standards, policies, and guidelines as well as interface with / delivery of other emergency communications services (e.g. police, fire) in order to support communications and interface requirements within the context of the emergency services framework.Knowledge of current and emerging telecommunications systems technologies including voice, data, satellite, information technology and radio telecommunication systems used in the public safety communications centre environment in order to provide technical expertise, advice and troubleshooting support for communications systems within the assigned public safety communications centreKnowledge of project management methodology, analytical tools and processes, and tendering process to support projects and development of project plans.Analytical and problem solving skills to assess business and technology requirements, evaluate the functionality of new software and hardwareExperience in working on multiple projects at the same timeExperience in working on multi-year projectsOral and written communication and presentation skills to explain complex information, understand client technology requirements and prepare various technical and status reports, materials and business casesInterpersonal skills to explain technology solutions and recommendationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and negotiation skillsA demonstrated team player with a proven track record for meeting deadlines
