Engineering Technologist
Our client, a world class developer of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, is looking for a hands-on Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technologist to join its team in Vaughan on a long-term contract basis. This role is an on-site position and you are required to be in the office every day.
In this role, you will be part of the Hardware Product Development team. You will collaborate with high performing, multi-disciplinary teams engaging in all phases of the product development life cycle process, from concept realization through to commercialization and post-launch.
Responsibilities :
- Perform system-level troubleshooting of test-beds (i.e mass spectrometers) during early research and product commercialization phases of project, to maximize test-bed evaluation uptime
- Collaborate with engineering and / or research scientists to conduct system characterization, while documenting and reporting-out on measurements based upon experiments and evaluations.
- Work closely with engineers, scientists and other engineering technologists to kit, assemble and integrate components and sub-assemblies for R&D-grade test-beds
- Work with systems engineering and technical leads to ensure that proper configuration management of testbeds are maintained during above-noted project phases
Requirements :
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical EngineeringPreference will be given to technologists who bring demonstrated experience in Mechanical and Electrical integration.Eligibility for certification by a provincial or territorial association (eg OACETT) is a requirementFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, and having direct experience in precision assembly and build of electro-mechanical prototypes (whether from a manufacturing or R&D environment ) is a strong assetDemonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repair of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) through use of electronic test & measurement systems (eg DVMs, oscilloscopes, data loggers, logic analyzers, etc) is a strong assetPreference will be given to candidates having a minimum of 3 years of workplace experience in the above-mentioned capacity (co-op experience may be considered if relevant to the role)Proactive, results-oriented, and willing to be part of a larger team working in conjunction with engineers and scientists.Able to multi-task between work activities, work to challenging deadlines, and have strong organizational skills.Solid report-writing and oral communication skills for creating and sharing reportsPlease submit all qualified resumes to :
