POSITION DESCRIPTION :

Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the full-time permanent position of Resource Teacher at Garden Valley Collegiate effective September 2, 2025 .

Applicants that have demonstrated experience in the following areas will be given careful consideration :

  • Experience in Resource is considered a strong asset.
  • Collaborate with and support classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments and differentiate instruction for students requiring additional support.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to educational assistants, ensuring effective implementation of student support plans.
  • Develop and implement support documentation (e.g., CMPs, adaptation plans) for students, ensuring alignment with individual needs and academic goals.

REQUIRED AND / OR PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience working with high school students in an educational setting (required).
  • Post-baccalaureate certification or degree in Inclusive Education or Special Education in preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The above represents general core qualifications for the position and may vary as necessary to the operations of the school / program.

    Garden Valley Collegiate is a grades 9-12 high school that is located on Main Street in the city of Winkler. We have an estimated student population of 650, a teaching staff of almost 50 and a support staff of 25.
