We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Advisor to join Prospera's team at our Metrotown / South Granville Advice Centers . As an Investment Advisor (IA), you will offer advanced investment, insurance, and financial planning advice, catering to members with moderate to sophisticated planning needs. Your expertise in member engagement will shine as you establish and deepen business relationships, integrating Prospera's Roadmap to Financial Freedom planning process into all your member interactions.

What you'll do :

  • Provide high-quality investment and insurance advice to member clients with investable assets generally exceeding $250,000.
  • Provide advanced financial planning advice and service to clients.
  • Build strong, lasting, and profitable financial relationships with clients; determines clients' needs regarding investment planning, risk management, retirement estate and tax planning.
  • Conducts a complete discovery, analysis, implementation, and ongoing monitoring to ensure members achieve their financial goals.
  • Network within the branch market area and with local professionals to increase market presence and create a strong referral base.
  • Proactively develop product knowledge and an understanding of Prospera's various lines of business to make meaningful connections with customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date Financial Planning and investment industry knowledge by participating in training programs / industry courses to upgrade skills, and obtain accreditation and licensing requirements.
  • Attend and facilitate branch meetings, educating and coaching staff on wealth planning topics, how financial planning can add value for clients, and recognizing referral opportunities.

What you bring :

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of successful and progressive experience providing wealth advice and investment solutions.
  • IIROC licensed or in the process of obtaining IIROC certification.
  • Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degree or equivalent program.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification and a life insurance license are valuable assets.
  • Expert proficiency in investment products and a proven track record in achieving or exceeding sales goals and targets.
  • Advanced knowledge of sound financial planning principles, and a good understanding of all investment products.
  • Experience with financial planning software and ability to prepare written financial plans in accordance with the six-step financial planning process.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills with a vested interest in sharing knowledge.
  • Ability to complete complex plans, schedule, organize and prioritize work assignments with substantial coordination.
