Vice President, Corporate Services

Our client is searching for a Vice President, Corporate Services to join their Executive Leadership Team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development and operations of the shared services within the organization, providing strategic leadership, mentorship, and guidance to employees, ensuring the core programs and services are delivered to the highest potential. A successful candidate will be accountable for supporting organizational performance and exercises all authority for duties delegated by the CEO.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

  • Provide oversight for the establishment of short-term and long-term renewal plans for Information Technology, with regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team and CEO
  • Support the implementation of hardware, software, website support and contract services required to maintain necessary information technology systems for all departments and operations of the programs and organization
  • Oversee the development, tracking, and control of the annual IT operating and capital budgets
  • Drive the development and implementation IT strategies to optimize technology infrastructure and systems in alignment with organizational goals
  • Lead the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance operational efficiency and innovation
  • Support the maintenance of a cyber security framework aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Provide recommendations for organization structure or strategic planning to support management in defining an optimal structure for organizational performance
  • Provide oversight and support for the development of talent acquisition, performance management, total compensation, and other programs are required
  • Oversee HR processes that impact the selection, placement, retention, development, and rewarding of employees to foster a high-performance culture
  • Provide strategic oversight to project management and methodologies and best practices
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement a robust reporting and analytics framework, utilizing tools like PowerBI and potentially AI
  • Develop dashboards and comprehensive analytics and KPI’s to support operations and corporate decision-making
  • Oversee the development of external communications
  • Create, manage, coordinate, and execute high-quality marketing strategies, programs and tactical plans that support the achievement of the organization’s goals
  • Develop marketing strategies and tactics that increase public awareness and stewardship programs, recycling programs, and the company purpose
  • Provide ongoing stakeholder support, and communications for ERP Stakeholders
  • Oversee marketing communications and activities including branding, advertising, conferences, and seminars; market research analysis and website design and content related to the marketing of the organization and its programs
  • Support the development and tracking of metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities
  • Oversee web content, ensuring content is current and relevant
  • Provide leadership for administrative functions, including facilities management and office operations including budget development and management
  • Develop and oversee office filing systems, ensuring the organization maintains adequate records retention, segregation and confidentiality and is compliant with legislation in Alberta
  • Support corporate events like the AGM, strategic planning, and various other meetings
  • Optimize administrative services to support overall organizational efficiency
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure quality
  • Oversee vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards

Your strengths include :

  • University Degree in Business, Marketing or a related discipline is required
  • Designated Professional, such as PMP Certificate, CPA Designation, etc.
  • 10+ years of progressively senior leadership experience and an understanding of the government sector, ideally within a professional organization, or related to the environment industry
  • Additional exposure to public communications, information systems and accounting principles is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to providing increased levels of customer service and satisfaction and overall improvement to the organization
  • Ability to think prospectively and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent management skills and ability to deliver upon multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in applying internal controls while maintaining a strategic focus
  • Must be able to handle confidential information ethically and professionally
  • Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation / mediation skills
